This season we ventured into a new region bringing coffees from Vietnam.
We secured both natural & washed arabicas of screening 18. We found some excellent results that came with severe challenges. According to Sopex it has become harder to estimate the yield per hectare in Vietnam as well as the total cultivated area due to several factors:
- Crop is starting in November & finishing in January with late flowering in March, which used to be in February.
- The conditions of trees in farms are not consistent with considerable variations.
- Even if water is available, farmers await for rains to minimize costs.
Despite this & other challenges, ICT continues to be present at origin working together with farmers to continue improvement & development.
